What to Expect

Exactly what is it you do, Dear?

  1. Interview – Meet with you, preferably in your home, to learn your goals, dreams, and even your concerns.
  2. Letter of agreement – Written confirmation of the project scope and fees.
  3. Design development – Meet with you throughout the entire process in order to explore the following:
    • Design programming – Gather more detailed information required to fufill your needs.
    • Concept development – Explore ideas and develop sketches to identify a design solution that addresses scale, massing, line, texture, color, shape, and more.
    • Spatial relationships – Study traffic, flow, support of functional needs, furniture layout and interrelationships of vertical and horizontal planes.
    • Selection – Choose or design finishes, materials, furnishings and fabrics.
  4. Design documentation – Written and drawn documentation of the design solution; finish and fixture specifications for your contractor; technical drawings for remodeling, lighting plans, custom cabinets and custom furniture.
  5. Execution and supervision – Visit construction sites to guide and assist your contractors; place furniture orders; oversee fabrication of custom items; arrange and supervise delivery and installation.
